The 2012 Buick Compact Sedan D1SB undressed. Will it work? It seems like Buick is going a little small for an aging audience. China yes… but the U.S.?

December 20th, 2009Hyundai keeps coming. Look for the 2011 Elantra to turn up on dealer lots next year. The two links show exterior and the best interior shots to date.
2012 Saab 9-4x
December 19th, 2009
Saab was to introduce its all-new 9-4x (vehicle code GMT168) at the beginning of 2011 as a 2012 model year. The vehicle would have been based off from the Cadillac SRX’s Theta Epsilon platform and built along side of it in Ramos Arizpe, MX. GM really did a good job of making it look unique to Saab, unlike the GMT360-based 9-7X. The link below will take you to a pic of the proposed interior for the 9-4x. Again, very much in-line with the look of Saab. The Swedish Government is reportedly attempting to hold an emergency meeting with GM. We will see.
Aston Martin Cygnet
December 16th, 2009

They were serious about this? It’s hard to believe but a Toyota iQ based Aston Martin Cygnet will be produced in 2011. How does this happen? Is Aston Martin trying to undo the evil they have done building highly fuel inefficient vehicles? It looks like overcompensation.
Good luck with this one. It’s small car madness.
2011 Dodge Charger
December 10th, 2009Some great shots of the 2011 Dodge Charger. Some represent the actual vehicle in Auburn Hills, with some camo.
Chrysler certainly knows how to do RWD cars. The 2011 Charger and 300 will create some stir. Regardless of what you might think about the company’s position, you will have to appreciate the all-new Charger and 300.

December 10th, 2009U.S. Buick Compact
December 10th, 2009Hit the jump above. It will take you to a Chinese website. Just scroll down and you will see some lightly camouflaged pictures of GM’s upcoming Buick compact car. This is the U.S. variant that is slated to be produced in Lordstown, OH alongside the Cruze. It’s hard to envision a Buick of this size in the U.S. Buick dealers can expect to see it arrive later in 2011.
All-new Toyota Sienna
December 4th, 2009

A tweet post was that the all-new Sienna looked like a Klingon Warship. We can see some similarities, but it’s a minivan. It’s really hard to design around a box. The quality of the materials used looks very good, which is to be expected from Toyota. The Sienna and mid next year the Odyssey will provide some real competition to Chrysler. Chrysler needs to hold onto the minivan segment, as they have very few segments left where they can sell higher volumes.

Ford Site (Pricing and Building a Fiesta)
December 3rd, 2009Ford Fiesta Site (Build and Price)
The link takes you to the Ford Fiesta site where you can explore and price different models. Pricing starts at $13,320. The site and the cars look great. We review the Fiesta and forecasted volumes in this weeks Autoconomy Letter.
2011 North American Fiesta
December 3rd, 2009
Ford Fiesta in Lime Squeeze. You have to love the color naming scheme!

The aftermarket and dealer mod. opportunities! Looking great. What late teen/20 something wounldn’t want one of these?

While the Fiesta sedan still looks good, it’s pretty obvious that the vehicle was designed as a hatch.

Interior is very well detailed and defined for a car in this price category and segment.
